Drinking water

What a primacy agency is

A primacy agency is the state or territorial agency that implements the Safe Drinking Water Act for public water systems. It is not EPA headquarters. Most states have primacy. EPA runs the program directly where a state does not.

Short definition only

The Act is the law. 40 CFR Part 141 is the federal regulation. The primacy agency is who you file with and who inspects you. See how we use the SDWA.

The $199 Complete System Report is the cited document. Orevant Pro is $87/month or $870/year.

Orevant is not legal advice and does not report your system to the state.

FAQ

Is EPA my primacy agency?

Only if your state does not have primacy. Most operators file with the state.
